SUNLIGHT joins the «Le Notre Landscape Forum» in Rome

SUNLIGHT took part in the second LE:NOTRE LANDSCAPE FORUM took place from 17th – 20th April 2013 in Rome, hosted by the Faculty of Architecture of University La Sapienza.

The LE:NOTRE Thematic Network Project in Landscape Architecture brings together some 200 university departments from Europe and beyond, together with a wide range of stakeholder organisations.

The goal of the project is to promote discourse and dialogue between members and thereby strengthen the landscape architecture academic community as well as its links to the wider community of researchers and practitioners working in the field of landscape.

During the Forum, four workshops and trip visits on different themes were organised:
1. Urban growth and peri-urban sprawl – landscapes of the contemporary city
2. Sustainable tourism – strategies for landscape regeneration
3. Heritage and identities – permanence vs. Transformation
4. Rural fringe – production or culture?

Also conferences with keynote speakers and local experts were held around the different themes. Franco Zagari, keynote speaker of the Urban Workshop, stressed the idea that stressed the idea

Also parallel meetings as the Doctoral Colloquium and the Head of Schools Meeting were held.

It was an excellent opportunity for the Landscape people of the Academic community (researchers, professors, head of schools, students) to gather all together and exchange experiences.
